There are many different ways to get involved in music ministry at Blanchard FUMC.
The chancel choir meets at 7 pm on Wednesday evening for one hour and sings at the 11 am service most Sundays. You do not need to read music or have experience singing to join the choir! We do a variety of choral music including traditional choral anthems, hymn arrangements, contemporary praise songs, spirituals, gospel music and much more. We do a Christmas Cantata in December as well as an Easter Cantata on Palm Sunday each year. All are invited to come and join the fun as we praise God and help to lead the worship service.
The church has 3 octaves of chimes and 3 octaves of handbells. We have a bell choir that meets on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm as well as two chimes choirs for adults and children. Our children are also invited to praise God through singing! We have a children’s choir that meets in the Fall to prepare a Christmas musical and then again in the late Winter/Spring to prepare a Spring program. All children pre-K through 5th are encouraged to participate! We have a great time playing games, singing and learning about God.
If you play an instrument and would be interested in playing a solo or in a small ensemble at church, please contact Marci Corey. We are often in need of a soloist or ensemble to accompany the congregational singing or to perform special music.
